Antico Baglio Sammartino is the beautiful historic family residence of agricultural entrepreneurs who, for five generations, have been dedicated to preserving rural traditions. Our estate is surrounded by 12 hectares of lush fields where the ancient and the modern blend together to offer our guests intimate corners, close to nature, for a truly relaxing experience.

The history of our family is deeply intertwined with the land of Sommatino. Our ancestors, descendants of the Chinnici and Sammartino families, held administrative roles in the fiefdom of Prince Trabia Tallarita.

Situated on a hill overlooking the landscape of the Nissena countryside, Antico Baglio Sammartino is a quintessential example of Sicilian architecture. The baglio was historically the heart of our family’s agricultural activities, as farmers for generations. We have sought to restore the baglio to its original meaning. Indeed, the baglio was the place where rural community life unfolded. The original building consisted of the main farmhouse, storage rooms, artisan workshops, and some peasants’ dwellings. Today, the baglio has been renovated and now welcomes guests with five rooms where they can enjoy a moment of relaxation.
